Carols from the Hills Enthralls Television Audience Worldwide

Mumbai, Dec. 30. Sonada — A Christmas Carol competition organised by Radio Salesian, a community radio in Darjeeling hills, under the banner Jingle Bells Season 4 has been packaged for television by Salesian Television - a video production wing of Salesian College Sonada.

The competition consisted of creating original Christmas Carol compositions in English or Nepali languages and rendering it for Radio and Television. The audio and video recordings which started on 25th November ended on 14th December. The voting which started on 23rd December from 3 PM on YouTube will end on 28th December at 3 PM and the winners will be announced on 1st January 2020.

Winning Teams will receive besides cash prizes, trophies and certificates.Of the seven teams in the competition, two groups consisted of Salesian Brothers (Peace Makers and Decatonix) followed by TDYC (Thapa Dhura Youth Centre), Anugraha (Gorabari /Sonada), Blessed (Mirik Duptin), Salvation (Sonada) and Bethseda (Sonada).

The 28 minute English language program anchored by RJ Bryan was offered on a ''Free to Air'' proposal to leading Christian Television Channels like Goodness TV, Shalom TV, Shekihna TV and Atmadarshan TV.

The Nepali language version anchored by RJ Moses too was offered to local television channels in Sonada, Kurseong and Darjeeling.

Some of the television channels that carried the English language version of CAROLS FROM THE HILLS included ATMADARSHAN TV (20th December onwards), SHEKINAH TV (23 December 5 pm) and re-broadcast at different timing on other days. GOODNESS TV (26th December Thursday 9 am to 9:30 am, IST) and SHALOM TV which has broadcast plans awaiting their preferred HD.mov format.
