Don Bosco for Excellence

Don Bosco for Excellence programme consists of the following sub programmes:

  1. Don Bosco Schools Self-Review and Evaluation (DBSSRE) Programme
  2. Don Bosco Schools Collaborative Review (DBSCR) Programme
  3. Don Bosco Leadershili and Management Training (DBLMT) for School Leaders
  4. Don Bosco Teachers Assist Programme (DBTAli)
  5. Don Bosco Schools Assessors’ Training (DBSAT)

In this endeavour AIDBES has employed the service of Adhyayan Quality Standard, an organization working with schools, to do the Review and Evaluation in our Don Bosco Schools. Adhyayan validates the Don Bosco Schools Self-Review on the following 7 Key Performance Areas:

  1. Leadership and Management
  2. Teaching and Learning
  3. The Child
  4. The Curriculum
  5. Community and Partnership
  6. Infrastructure and resources
  7. The Salesian Way

 

  1. Don Bosco Schools Self-Review and Evaluation (DBSSRE) Programme.
  2. This is a six-day programme, starting with Orientation Training given by the Adhyayan team. The Adhyayan team trains the school’s team on how to undertake the Self-Review. Team members are drawn from following categories: School Leaders, Teachers, Non-Teaching Staff, Alumni, Management, Administrators, Parents and Students and local neighbourhood community. The Principal leads the Schools Self- Review Evaluation (SSRE) Team.

    On the Self-Review days, Self-Review team led by the Principal will conduct their school’s self-review and collectively assess the school’s performance across 7 Key Performance Areas.

    On the External Evaluation day, the team of Assessors from Adhyayan will conduct an external evaluation across the 7 Key Performance Areas.

    On the Quality Dialogue day, both the teams (External Assessors i.e. Adhyayan and Self- Review Team) come together to collectively asses the school’s performance and build a consensus about it.

    On the Action Planning day, both teams work together to identify key components and processes for the improvement of the school’s performance.

    The Don Bosco Schools Self-Review and Evaluation (DBSSRE) Programme was the first phase of Don Bosco for excellence. In the second phase the schools will have the Don Bosco Schools Collaborative Review (DBSCR) Programme.

     

  3. Don Bosco Schools Collaborative Review (DBSCR) Programme
  4. Don Bosco School Collaborative Review (DBSCR) is a review and evaluation programme carried out by Adhyayan and the School Review team together in a collaborative manner. This DBSCR is an evaluation of all the schools which have done their Don Bosco Schools Self-Review and Evaluation (DBSSRE) programme earlier.

Don Bosco Leadership and Management Training (DBLMT) is training programme which is conducted for the Principals/Salesian School Leaders and as well as second level Salesian leaders and teachers who would like to update themselves on 21st century skills of Teaching, Learning and school administrations.

  7. Don Bosco Teachers Assist Programme (DBTAP)
  8. Don Bosco Teachers Assist Programme (DBTAP) helps to build the capacity of middle level school leader to undertake various responsibilities to organize and lead various innovative programmes for the students. The Don Bosco Teachers Assist Programme (DBTAP) consists of the following three workshops.

  9. Don Bosco School Assessors’ Training (DBSAT)
  10. Don Bosco School Assessors’ Training (DBSAT) provides a foundation for the Principals and leaders as they prepare for participation in external evaluation of the school in some other provinces. The criteria for choosing Don Bosco school leaders to be assessors of other Don Bosco school and schools at large demands a veritable passion for education, and deep concern for improving the school standards and a demonstration of the ability to bring about change in their own schools.
